I opened my eyes and Lo!

I found myself in the heart of dense woods. It was a bright sunny day with the sun shining

merrily away. The landscape was enchanting and seemed to be straight out of a picture postcard.
The rolling hills in the horizon were draped with lush flora and glittering silvery cascades. These cascades were feeding little brooks at the foot of the hills. The sky was azure and dotted with fluffy white clouds here and there.The daffodils were dancing to the tunes of the humming breeze.

The tall trees too were swaying in harmony. The chirping birds and the gurgling brooks were providing the perfect background score.
The gossamers with little dewdrops hanging from them formed beautiful jeweled patterns on the grass.The wild flowers were lending their nectar to bumble bees while the gentle wind carried their fragrance through the woods, mesmerizing everything on its way.
Two rabbits resembling fluffy white balls of fur were nibbling away at sprigs of parsley. A fawn with its golden brown coat shining like silk in the sun was quenching its thirst at a brook. The waters of the brook were scintillating like a cluster of a thousand stars.
No other thought dared to enter my mind while I stood spellbound by the manifestation of nature before me in such splendor.

Just then, I experienced a violent jolt!
It was my dad trying to wake me up from my deep slumber….!!

Memorabilia

I’m one of those most fortunate souls on the earth who were blessed with a beautiful childhood.

Everyone of us owe our lives to two angels who brought us into this world, nurtured and nourished us, investing their whole physical and mental energies on us and leaving no stone unturned into shaping us as the individuals we are today.

Yes, those angels are our parents.Does any language in the world have words capable of describing exactly the love of our parents?

No words can render justice to describe this love.

I cannot describe how much my mom and dad love me or how much I love them. It is truly inexplicable. I have a younger sister who is the apple of our eyes. My sis and I share a wonderful childhood, which passes, before my eyes like a beautiful fairy tale whenever I reminisce about it.

I’m trying to relive my childhood through this blog.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of my childhood days is the book Tinkle (I dare not call it a comic or a magazine for fear of undermining its value. It is too good to be shrunken to those words.)

A few days ago, while I was surfing through Orkut, I came across a community of people who grew up reading Tinkle. I was amazed to find so many Tinkle-lovers. It was like homecoming to me to be around people sharing a common bond through Tinkle (virtually though).

It was the January of year 1991, when father brought us (sis and me) our first copy of Tinkle.

Dad, love you immensely. You introduced us to this wonderful world of Tinkle, which made our

childhood beautiful. We used to look forward very eagerly every fortnight for the latest copy of

Tinkle. Sis and I used to take belligerent turns in reading the stories (who could wait till the

other finishes the book! :)) So thoroughly we loved the book that we used to play the characters

in the stories. We even nicknamed each other as Keechu and Meechu (we fight even to this day

for the latter name, coz it sounds sweeter than the former. Lolz :)).

We learnt new words from Tinkle; we learnt science and interesting

facts from Tinkle; we learnt tricks and got treats from Tinkle…

Uncle Anu, Shikari Shambu, Suppandi, all these characters were like neighborhood figures to us.

In short, Tinkle became a part of our life.
